So I'm from a professional space where you needed to own any images you used. Where Walt Disney sued kindergartens that painted oddly-out-of-shape Mickey Mouses on the side walls of their toilet blocks for copyright infringment. That's why it takes some getting my head around the internet and use of images all over the place. You'll see I've added the same disclaimer that's on a lot of blogs saying I don't necessarily own any of the images or say they're mine. But I'm still reticent about putting up images than aren't mine. Even if I'm just saying nice things about them and linking to their blogs, websites or whatever.
When do you own an image now? And if it's on the net does that make it some kind of public domain?
I don't think we'd put any of these up on the Glass Tower site but I'm giving it a go here. Dipping my toe in the water, so to speak.
If I do use any of your images and unintentionally offend you. Please let me know and I'll take them down and stick to my own - but I think this could be much more fun. There's so much cool stuff out there and it's fun to share. Isn't that what the online community is meant to be all about. The whole wiki generation thing?
I may be right or I may be wrong.
